The DutchCatTwelve is innovative. Not just in terms of design and layout, but also drive technology and speed variants. Energy efficiency is our guiding principle.
An important, unique development is the design of two underwater ships: the Comfort and Sport versions. To help the imagination, we call it “two pairs of shoes”. Customers can choose between the two “shoes” according to their requirements and determine the cruising character of their DutchCat.
The Comfort version is for comfortably cruising at normal speeds; the Sport version can reach speeds of up to 22 kn (40 km/h). Energy reduction was a leading criterion in the design of both propulsion options.
The underwater ship of the Comfort version has been further optimised, leading to unprecedented low drag. This makes it possible to cruise on full-electric power for a long period of time. These “comfortable shoes” contribute to minimising the energy demand. At a speed of 8 km/h just 6 kW of energy is necessary. For more information, please see the technical details.
The Comfort version is available in:
- 100% electric
- Electric Hybrid based on power supply
- Diesel
- Diesel Hybrid based on the combination of the diesel version and the same electric motor as the 100% electric version
In other words, all of the means of propulsion available on the market today are available in the Comfort version of the DutchCat. This truly makes the DutchCatTwelve unique.
The Sport version, with a preliminary indicative speed of up to 22 Kn, is available in:
- Diesel
- Diesel Hybrid
